Dev Log Final
Here I'd like to share the level design for Think Tank and how it contributes to the gameplay.
Think Tank has one level that the players have to fight on. It is made to be somewhat symmetrical to not give one of the spawn points a massive advantage. While the map itself does not change, the loot chests are randomly placed on it, so players may have to adjust their strategy. There are two main obstacles to the player's traversal. The first is water, which the play cannot move over. In particular, there is a lake in the middle of the map which splits the map into two halves and can potentially create choke points for players to play around. The other type of obstacle is rocks and trees which, in addition to blocking the player's movement, will block certain attacks, letting the players use them as cover to avoid damage. The final thing of note on the map is two teleporters, one on each side. Moving onto the teleporter will move the player to a random nearby tile. It is meant to be a risky option that players can't always rely on but may get them out of a bad situation.
This game will be released and showcased at the Florida Polytechnic University game expo on April 20th, 2024
